The issue you are encountering may be due to a loss of connection or a channel failure. We can test this by re-syncing or changing channels to see if there is any difference in the way the keyboard responds.
First, locate your Bluetooth keyboard type:
A B C
A: If your keyboard says B1 on the number 1 key, below are the steps to re-sync or change channels.
Although it may seem like a battery issue, if you were to turn the keyboard on and all 3 lights turn on and then off, it is a good sign.
- Go to your System settings, then Bluetooth. If you are able to see the Macally keyboard in your 'Device List', you will need to remove/forget the device first by clicking on the i or X to the left.
- Turn the keyboard on and then locate and press the 'Fn' + '1' key for 3-4 seconds
- You should get blinking LED light and soon after, the Macally device should come up on your 'Device List.' Press connect.
Note: To change to a different channel, change the '1' in Step 2 to a different number (2 or 3)
B: If your keyboard has a Fn + P listed on your 'P' key, below are the steps to re-sync or change channels.
Although it may seem like a battery issue, if you were to turn the keyboard on and all 3 lights turn on and then off, it is a good sign.
- Go to your System settings, then Bluetooth. If you are able to see the Macally keyboard in your device list, we will want to remove/forget the device first by clicking on the i or X to the left.
- Turn the keyboard on and then locate the press the ‘Fn’ key and the ‘1’ on the number row at the same time and then let go. Then press the ‘Fn’ and the ‘P’ at the same time and let go.
- You should get blinking in the upper right corner and soon after, the Macally device should come up on your device list. Press connect.
Note: To change to a different channel, change the '1' in Step 2 to a different number (2 or 3)
C: If your keyboard has a designated Bluetooth key (i.e. a key in the upper right corner that says B1, B2, B3, below are the steps to re-sync or change channels.
Although it may seem like a battery issue, if you were to turn the keyboard on and see a green light and the backlight come on and then turn off, this is a good sign.
- Go to your System settings, then Bluetooth. If you are able to see the Macally keyboard in your 'Device List', you will need to remove/forget the device first by clicking on the i or X to the left.
- Turn the keyboard on and then locate the B1 key (in upper right corner) press and release the ‘B1’ key and then press and hold ‘B1' for 3 seconds.
- You should get blinking LED light and soon after, the Macally device should come up on your 'Device List.' Press connect.
Note: To change to a different channel, change the 'B1' in Step 2 to a different number (B2 or B3)
